3D Printing Breakthrough

Heart transplantation is currently the only treatment available to patients with end-stage heart failure. In a major medical breakthrough, Tel Aviv University researchers have “printed” the world’s first 3D vascularized engineered heart using a patient’s own cells and biological materials.

Prof. Tal Dvir who led the research for the study will speak at the plenary session at the opening of the IDSS. Join us to hear more about engineering personalized tissue implants.

12:10-14:00 Engineering Personalized Tissue Implants: From 3D Printing to Bionic Organs – KEYNOTE LECTURE

The population of grown-ups with congenital heart disease is continuously increasing with a significant portion of these patients suffering from arrhythmias due to the underlying congenital heart defect itself or as a sequela of interventional or surgical treatment.

The IDSS has devoted a day in recognition of the subject with leaders in the field giving their insights. Amongst these you will be able to hear from Sabine Ernst, Richard Friedman, Charles Berul, Mitchell Cohen and Ivo Roca-Luque.

08:30-10:00 Specific Arrhythmia Management in Grown-ups with Congenital Heart (GUCH)

10:20-11:50 GUCH: Indications and Special Techniques in Ablation

Sudden cardiac death (SCD )

Sudden cardiac death in the young has always been an intriguing enigma constituting a variety of syndromes being studied extensively. New and exciting data has been published in recent years. As part of the Pediatric Cardiology Summit, the IDSS brings a dedicated session on this topic with world known experts that will share their knowledge.

Atrial Fibrillation Remains One of the Most Studied Arrhythmias

IDSS provides the opportunity for appraisal of state-of-the-art issues in AF ablation techniques, risk factors detection and prevention, AF overview and latest studies impact on treatment options, by the greatest experts in the field.

Among our speakers are Dr. Packer who was a Principal Investigator of the CABANA Trial, Dr. Brachmann who was a co-lead investigator of the CASTEL-AF Trial, with many more experts such as Dr. Cappato and Dr. Di Biase who will share their knowledge.
